Meet Liz

I am a mother of two boys and married to a hilarious man who I have been evolving alongside of since 2005.

Upon falling pregnant with our first child, I found myself completely in awe of my body and the magic that the journey to motherhood had in store for me. I lived and breathed birth at every moment I could during my pregnancy.

Then birth itself completely shook me. It stripped me of my layers and showed me the parts of myself that I had not known before. It showed me what I was capable of, what my body was here to do and how to hone my instinctive and intuitive knowing.

Then motherhood rocked and rebuilt me over and over again, teaching me that we are supposed to be forever changing. I grow and expand alongside my children each year and have come to welcome the transformations with open arms.

After the birth of our second son, I could not deny the calling I felt pulling me into birth work. I searched far and wide for a course that resonated with me and that is when I found ‘The Dynamo Doula Course’. It was a catalyst for me to grow even further, not only professionally, but also personally. Through this course I have evolved by unpacking personal fears and beliefs, healing parts of my inner child, and discovering a greater appreciation for the multiple facets of myself.

In 2021 I began and continue in apprenticeship with my friend and mentor - Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor, Naomi Jansson.

I have studied and developed Postpartum skills and understanding through completing her Yin Sanctuary ‘Sitting The Moon’ Immersion Training. I continue to learn alongside her, assisting and caring for families together, as well as supporting the Postpartum Community Acupuncture Clinic at The Australian Centre of Natural Medicine.

Through out my mentorship with Naomi, I experienced the journey of pregnancy loss and received the deeply necessary care and support throughout a postpartum that looked and felt very different to the one I was familiar with. Since, I have walked with women experiencing loss as well as intentional pregnancy release and feel immense purpose in offering companionship in these darker spaces.

Being the witness and companion to those who choose to walk with me, is always my biggest teacher. The unique nature of each individual human experience is breathtakingly beautiful in my eyes.

Amongst Birth work, I hand pour with love and joy - ceremonial / companion candles from pure beeswax, which you can find in my store. The 40 tapers for 40 days bundle is cherished amongst mothers who wish to bring simple ritual into their early postpartum days.

I am a lover and upholder of the simple ceremonies and rituals that warm the heart, without all the fluff.

I facilitate Closing the Bones ceremonies and placenta burials, make placenta art and cord keepsakes, host a community of mothers at a cooking and connection event called Gather & Simmer and have traditional postpartum meal packages available outside of The Birth Companionship Package.

I have sough after ‘depth’ all my life. Finding it in many places, but the depths in birth work are some of the most profound.
